Retention, in plain numbers
Under $5

per subscriber, per year, inside a bundle.

Renewals that run without you.

Renewals lapse because nobody has time to chase them, and every lapsed renewal is a subscriber you already earned once. With Retention, each subscriber gets their own sequence of reminders, timed and personalized, with printing and postage included.

Across CJP papers, 42% of successful renewals come after expiration, if you know how to ask. We keep asking.

How your price is set

You pay for the subscribers you actually have.

  1. 1

    We clean your list

When you join, we go through your list with you. Many papers find people who haven't paid in years still getting the paper.

  2. 2

    We confirm your tier

Your price comes from the cleaned list, not your best guess. Publishers usually overestimate, so many land in a lower tier than they expected.

  3. 3

    We check once a year

Once a year, we go through your list with you again: how renewals are going, who's slipping away, and what to try next.

Questions

What publishers ask us

What counts as an active subscriber?

Paid print and digital subscribers. Newsstand and single-copy sales don't count, and neither do comps.

Do I have to change my website?

No. Circulation works alongside BLOX, WordPress, or whatever runs your site today, and takes over the subscriber side: the list, renewals, payments, and USPS paperwork.

How do card payments work?

Readers pay by card through your payment portal. Card payments are processed at 5%. We handle all the setup, PCI compliance, and security. We pay out monthly with a detailed statement, and can integrate with your QuickBooks.

Is there a contract?

No. It's month-to-month, with no setup fee, and we do the data migration.

Do you handle auto-renew?

Yes, and more thoroughly than most vendors. With Retention, when a charge fails we retry it at sensible times, update expired cards, and chase down the other common failures. Auto-renew doesn't mean 100% retention, and it comes with its own housekeeping. We take that on for you.

What if I don't fit the tiers?

Over 6,000 subscribers, a free or requester paper, or several papers under one owner? We'll work out pricing with you.

From publishers

Papers that handed us the busywork

“Before we started using CJP, I was struggling to keep up with circulation, getting renewals out, on top of keeping up a website, and publishing a weekly paper. Now I can do what I need to do with the paper and have peace of mind knowing the renewals are handled.”

Aimee WilsonThe Blount Countian

“By managing subscriptions, we have improved retention, increasing our revenue. Online subscriptions have increased more than three times what we had before.”

JenKiowa County Democrat

“The subscriber area in CJP is simple enough that even our technology-averse office manager in her 70s loves it. Posting articles is also very easy. We are certainly saving compared to what we were paying previously.”
